About Us
Musstir is a real estate / hospitality acquisition and development company, a part of MB Group of companies. Musstir’s activities focus on high growth markets across the Middle East and Africa with a high calibre management team who has a proven track record of property development and management in multiple geographies. Our portfolio compromises of operating and development assets across property type and customer base, to mitigate business and development risks.
Musstir’s strong ties to international hospitality operators also ensure alignment of teams and objectivities to meet aggressive asset plans. Operators are consistently monitored and benchmarked on trading results and benchmarked on trading results. The mother company provides strategic, financial and operating support for its portfolio companies and subsidiaries including Musstir.
Musstir as a developer
Musstir is a proud developer in Oman and in the region, being a key player in the market by aligning ourselves closely with the national vision 2040 for the tourism market. Our main objective has always been the successful delivery of our projects. Our investment strategy is based upon the health and forecast of the real estate market, the legal environment and public trends. Our goal is to optimize our investment process via the selection of suitable investment model of each project, shortening and making the process more efficient and finally reduction of cost via management liabilities.
Musstir as an operator
Musstir is an all around operator that is committed to our owners and partners, forming long-term relationship by delivering the best value. We provide assistance to hotel owners at all stages of development, we assist developers during the design stage by peer reviewing designs from an operation point of view. In addition, we assist with technical assessments of operating hotels.
The Essque brand
Essque is a boutique brand operated and further being developed by Musstir. Essque is currently operating Essque Zalu, a five star hotel in the northern tip of the island of Zanzibar, with plans to expand. The distinctive brand caters to the conscious traveller and celebrates explorers. The luxurious unmatched experience appeals to all our senses, fusing the local architecture and design with a modern twist.

Safana Al Barwani
Managing Director of MUSSTIR
Safana Al Barwani is the Managing Director of MUSSTIR. She oversees the development and management of all properties on behalf of the MB Holding Group of Companies. She received her bachelor degree from The University of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Safana is also on the Board of Directors of Ubar Hotels and Resorts SAOG and Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara.
Furat Al Lawati
Chief Financial Officer
Furat is Musstir’s CFO, where he oversees the financial performance of the operating hotel assets, leading Musstir’s finance team and providing support to the operating assets finance team. He has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance and planning, financial management, reporting, risk and governance across multiple industries such as Oil & Gas, Telecom, Aviation and Hospitality. Furat is a chartered Accountant from ACCA and holds a Bsc in Accounting and Finance from University of Birmingham, England.
Chandra Shekar
Chief Commercial Officer
Chandra is a hands‑on real estate investment and development leader with over 18 years of experience aligning asset management and development strategies to maximize long‑term value. His core strengths lie in leading projects end‑to‑end—from origination, feasibility, capital structuring, project launch, stabilization, and portfolio optimization. He has worked closely with leading regional real estate developers and institutional investors, including prominent Dubai‑based family offices, delivering large‑scale residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. At Musstir, Chandra actively leads new luxury project launches, integrating product strategy, pricing, go‑to‑market execution, and post‑launch asset management to drive sustainable, investor‑focused returns. Chandra is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Management Accountant from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Lucknow University, with a specialization in Quantitative Techniques, and brings strong systems expertise across SAP FICO, Oracle (IPMS), Microsoft Dynamics, and advanced MS Excel.
Rohit Sharma
Chief Asset Officer
A senior hospitality leader with over 28 years of experience across India and the Middle East, Rohit specializes in asset management, operations, P&L leadership, hotel openings, and business turnaround. He has worked with leading global brands including The Leela, Marriott, Taj Hotels, Landmark Group, Whitbread, and Hotelivate. As Managing Director – Asset Management at Hotelivate, he led a USD 600K P&L vertical, delivering 60% growth while advising owners and global brands such as Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, and Four Seasons. Known for driving profitability, improving RevPAR and EBITDA, and executing successful renovations and asset transitions, he combines data driven strategy with strong people leadership to create sustainable growth. Rohit holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from Mangalore University, India, and completed a Management Trainee Program with The Leela, Mumbai, forming the foundation of his hospitality leadership career. He is also a member of the Hospitality Leaders Advisory Board in Dubai, reflecting his active engagement with the regional hospitality industry.
Khadija Al Sinawi
Senior HR Manager
Khadija is the Senior HR Manager at Musstir, where she leads the Human Resources team in delivering value to the company as a trusted business partner specializing in developing talent and ensuring a distinct employee experience. Khadija has around 20 years of experience in results-driven HR practices at MB Group, with extensive experience in talent acquisition, employee engagement, and organizational development. Khadija is a Certified Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) Professional and holds a Higher Diploma in Human Resources from BTEC.
Harith Al Brashdi
Chief Executive Officer
Harith S. Al Brashdi is the Chief Executive Officer of Musstir and a highly accomplished real estate and investment leader with more than 25 years of experience delivering large scale mixed use and tourism developments. He has successfully led landmark projects with a combined value exceeding USD 1 billion, spanning hospitality, retail, residential, and integrated urban communities. Prior to joining Musstir, Harith served as Chief Operating Officer at Al Madina Real Estate, where he oversaw corporate operations, strategic growth initiatives, financial structuring, and stakeholder management across multiple SPVs and joint ventures. Renowned for his disciplined execution and visionary leadership, he has a proven track record of building high performance teams and delivering complex developments on time and within budget, while driving innovation and sustainable growth. Harith holds a Master of Science in Construction and Project Management from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Gannon University, Erie, Pennsylvania, USA.
Haries Salim
Senior Construction Manager
Haries Salim is the Senior Construction Manager at Musstir, responsible for overseeing the full scope of construction activities across the company’s diverse portfolio. In this capacity, he leads site-based teams and serves as the Client’s representative during the execution phase, ensuring that projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, time, and cost. With more than 28 years of experience in project and construction management, Haries has delivered a wide range of developments across Oman and the UAE, including residential and mixed-use complexes, commercial buildings, hospitals, mosques, airports, marine works, and major infrastructure projects. Haries holds a Post Graduate in Construction Management and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Jafar Hadi
Chief Development Officer
Jafar is the Chief Development Officer at Musstir, where he oversees the technical delivery of development projects. With over 31 years of extensive experience in hotel development and project management, Jafar has a proven track record in successfully delivering hospitality projects from conception to operation. He has played a key role in the development and completion of 25 hotels and resorts, managing all aspects including design coordination, construction oversight, stakeholder communication, and operational readiness. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a Certified Project Manager.
